About a concrete septic tank at a high COG. How to choose the right septic tank for a summer residence with a high level of groundwater A septic tank for a summer residence with a high level of groundwater

The high level of groundwater interferes not only with the construction of houses, but also with the laying of communications - water supply, sewer pipes in such soil are more difficult to lay. Septic tanks are no exception here - for summer cottages with a high level of groundwater, during their construction, it is necessary to take into account the condition of the soil, which may indicate the risks of flooding of the installed equipment. In our article, we will try to figure out how a septic tank should be arranged at a high level of groundwater.

How to accurately determine the level of groundwater

The depth of the septic tank depends on the level of water. Ideally, the purification system is arranged above groundwater. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, and it is necessary to lay a septic tank at a high GWL in soil with groundwater located close to the surface.

High-quality operation of the system in such conditions is ensured by sealing the containers into which wastewater enters. Otherwise, the septic tank will not only turn into a simple drain hole- sewage can seep into the ground, and then fall into underground aquifers. To avoid such a scenario, it is necessary to accurately calculate the installation depth of the septic tank and the sewer pipes going to it, and this can only be done by knowing how deep the groundwater is.

A high level is considered to be the presence of water at a distance of up to 0.5 m from the surface. The owners of plots with groundwater at a depth of 1.5 m or more were lucky - this is also not an entirely acceptable result, but it will still be easier to equip the sewer.

Location of groundwater at the site on the diagram Source rinnipool.ru

There are several ways to get an idea of the depth of groundwater - preliminary and accurate. The first ones include:

  • polling neighbors about the state of the soil on their plots;
  • studying the flora on the site - if moisture-loving plants predominate, then the water is at a short distance from the surface;
  • determination of the water level in the well;
  • digging a hole - if after a while water appears in it, then groundwater is located close to the surface.

The only accurate methods are geological samples on the site, for which wells are drilled at the site of the planned installation of a septic tank and at several other points.

Requirements for a septic tank for a site with a high level of groundwater

For a septic tank with a high level of groundwater, the following parameters are important:

  • tightness - so that groundwater does not fall into drains and vice versa;
  • strength - to withstand possible displacement of wet soil;
  • reliable fixation - if the septic tank is light, and water collects around it, then the container may simply float;
  • good drainage - increased soil moisture usually harms any materials.

Industry Offers various designs providing tightness and strength. You can either purchase a ready-made septic tank for a high groundwater level or order an assembly of an individual design, for which plastic barrels pre-reinforced with fiberglass are used. They are hermetically closed, resistant to external moisture. In both cases, the most important thing is to prevent them from surfacing if the pit begins to fill with groundwater or rainwater. To do this, a concrete pad with fasteners for the barrel is mounted in the pit for the septic tank.

If you plan to install a concrete septic tank, concrete is poured onto a reinforcing mesh, it strengthens the walls and provides the necessary structural strength.

Types of septic tanks for a site with high groundwater Source rinnipool.ru

Drainage is one of the main concerns of high groundwater septic tanks. The disposal of the processed liquid is done into the gutter or into the filtration field. To increase the efficiency of cleaning, the field is equipped on a hill. To ennoble the place, use landscape decor. Waste water is pumped to the filtration hill using a pump.

Choosing a place for a septic tank

When determining the location for the cleaning system, the current sanitary standards are taken into account.

  • A septic tank for a high groundwater level cannot be located closer than 50 m to the well and 30 m to the reservoir.
  • The distance to the residential building and plantings is at least 3 m.
  • The road should be at a distance of 5 m from the septic tank.

Which septic tank to choose

The system model for domestic wastewater treatment primarily depends on the volume of water consumed. To equip a septic tank for high groundwater, models that are fully assembled at the factory are selected or systems are built on site, with waterproofing work.

In addition, you can consider the easiest way to solve the problem of wastewater treatment with a high location of groundwater - surface installation of a septic tank. Tanks are placed in a dedicated place, protected by external walls, covered with a roof. But with obvious advantages, this option has no less tangible disadvantages - a surface septic tank takes up a lot of space, plus, it will need to equip a pump system, since drains will not get into it by gravity.

Industrial production structures

The market offers many options for fully finished septic tanks, designed for various volumes of processed wastewater. Such septic tanks are made of durable plastic, and the space inside is already divided into separate chambers, in which a phased wastewater treatment takes place. The septic tank only needs to be brought, installed in a suitable place and it is ready to work.

The best option for sewerage in a private house is a septic tank without pumping, with a full cleaning cycle. Bacteria live in such a septic tank, which decompose all wastewater into silt and water, purified by about 95-98% - it can be used for technical purposes. The sludge is extracted every 1-3 years, but it can be used as fertilizer. True, such designs are not cheap, but given that they do not need a sewer machine, these septic tanks pay off within a couple of years. Since they have a completely sealed body, such systems can be installed at any soil moisture, without fear that the drains will enter the groundwater.

High and normal groundwater levels Source remoo.ru

On a note! You can not spend money on such a biological treatment septic tank, but simply install a sealed storage tank, from which the contents are periodically pumped out. But this is like an extreme option, because regular spending on calling a car will negate the initial benefit.

Septic tank from eurocubes

When equipping a septic tank from polymer containers in soil with high humidity, a reinforced concrete pad is arranged on which the entire system is installed.

Plastic eurocubes are securely fixed to the base to prevent them from floating. This solution is more economical, since it is possible to use old used containers.

Concrete septic tank

Such systems are gradually beginning to become obsolete, but are still in demand due to the relatively inexpensive installation cost, durability and ease of operation. Its advantages:

  • durable - it will not be damaged by soil displacement;
  • has no seams, which means there is no threat of depressurization;
  • does not require reinforcement from ascent;
  • cheaper than industrial
  • durable - in some cases it can work for about 20 years without pumping.

At a high level of groundwater, the chambers of a concrete septic tank are connected with pipes at a slight slope to ensure the free flow of liquid from one container to another. This option is suitable for families with high water consumption.

Reinforced concrete well for country sewerage Source sovet-ingenera.com

For normal operation of the system, a forced supply of wastewater to the filtration fields or infiltrator located on a hill is required. The pump for this is usually placed in the last tank.

Important! For safety, it is better to install 2 pumps.

Mounting Features

The biggest problem when installing septic tanks for summer cottages with a high level of groundwater is the water entering the pit from the soil. If excavation is carried out manually, the process becomes laborious and lengthy.

Installing a plastic septic tank in soil with a high level of groundwater requires the installation of a concrete pad at the bottom of the pit, which will securely fix the cleaning containers. Septic tanks are attached to metal loops available in ready-made concrete blocks, or they are installed during cement pouring.

Installation of a concrete pad and a drainage well Source proseptik54.ru

Important! If a finished slab is laid, then its weight must be at least 50% of the weight of the septic tank.

In addition to fixing to a concrete pad, you need to take care of the junction of pipes with cameras. Joints between pipes and chambers must be carefully treated with sealant. To prevent ascent, the finished system is sprinkled with a layer of sand and dry cement, and then rammed.

If there is a question of equipping a concrete septic tank, it is better to order reinforced monolithic structures. Popular concrete rings have butt joints that can be damaged during operation. This is fraught with the ingress of liquid into the soil and environmental pollution, as well as the ingress of external water into the tanks and filling them with groundwater.

When digging a trench, water enters it - how to solve the problem

Even at the stage of checking the amount and level of groundwater, you can find that it is so high that water immediately seeps into the pit right through its walls. In this case, it would be most reasonable to postpone the installation of a septic tank for the driest months of the year, when the water level is lowered and the construction of a sewer in a private house with a high level of groundwater can be carried out with minimal losses.

When for some reason this cannot be done, then you have to dig holes and trenches at the same time, and at the same time scoop water out of them. You can simplify the work only with the help of a pump, the hose of which must be lowered into the pit and the water must be pumped out not manually, but mechanically. Of course, the pump must be such that it is capable of pumping heavily turbid water with sand inclusions.

In any case, it is necessary first of all to dig a hole at the lowest point and dig trenches for pipes from it so that water drains from them into the originally dug hole and pump out everything collected by the pump from here.

True, all these problems can arise only if it is not possible to dig holes with an excavator and you have to use manual labor. In the first case, water simply does not have time to flow into the pit in such an amount that it interferes with the work.

Soil water treatment system - implementation stages

If a conventional septic tank is used, and not a biological wastewater treatment plant, then a mandatory element of the entire system is soil post-treatment, which is performed in the form of a filtration field or an infiltrator. If the groundwater level is high, then the second option is preferable, although, with correct calculations, conventional filter cassettes will also work well.

Soil post-treatment system (filtration cassettes) in the diagram Source svoya-izba.ru

Cassettes are installed in this way:

  • dig a shallow trench, the bottom of which is leveled and rammed;
  • concrete blocks are placed along the edges, which hermetically close the trench;
  • small gravel is poured to the bottom;
  • pipes perforated on one side are brought in, through which it is planned to discharge treated effluents;
  • the filter layer is filled up and perforated pipes are laid on it, through which clarified drains are supplied;
  • the remaining volume is covered with rubble, ventilation is arranged;
  • the final stage is backfilling with soil and aesthetic design.

Such a filtration cassette is enough for 10-15 years, depending on the intensity of use of the sewer, after which everything must be dug up and washed, or gravel and the filter layer must be changed.

Conclusion

Installing a septic tank at a high level of groundwater is a laborious, but real, task. The main thing is to accurately calculate the level of water and choose best septic tank based on specific conditions. It is better to entrust this work to professionals, because independent choice and installation of the structure can lead to problems in subsequent operation.

In the event that it is not possible to connect a house or cottage to a central wastewater disposal system, it is necessary to build a sewer that works autonomously. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account local conditions, including such an important factor as the level at which soil water occurs. So, if in a given area there is a high level of groundwater, a septic tank will have to be built using a special technology. Let's see how this can be done.

Among the most popular options for an autonomous treatment plant, it is worth highlighting a septic tank. This installation allows not only to accumulate, but also to treat wastewater. This is its significant advantage over drives that require regular pumping.

At the same time, septic tanks are much cheaper than modern biological treatment plants. And, unlike the latter, they are non-volatile. The use of a conventional septic tank with a high groundwater level (GWL) is excluded, since the purified water simply will not be absorbed into the waterlogged soil.

In addition, there is a risk of flooding of sedimentation tanks with groundwater. Consider what construction methods are used under such conditions.

Basic installation rules

If groundwater occurs at a depth of 2 meters from the soil surface and above, then this level is considered high. A septic tank for high groundwater must have the following qualities:

  • Full waterproof cameras;
  • The need to protect against surfacing;
  • The need to prevent damage to the hull due to heaving of the soil during freezing and thawing.

Let's consider these points in more detail.

Chamber tightness

Tightness is an important condition in the construction of any septic tank. However, if the treatment plant is being built at a high GWL, this factor should be given special attention. If the chambers are not waterproof enough, there is a risk of contaminants entering the groundwater.

And this is very dangerous, especially if the pollution reaches the aquifers. Carelessness in the construction of a septic tank can cause contamination of drinking water and provoke a surge in the disease of people living in the area.

Advice! When planning to build a septic tank and discovering that the groundwater level on the site is high, it is worth refusing to use bricks or reinforced concrete rings as a material. The ideal solution would be plastic septic tank or monolithic reinforced concrete structure.

The easiest option is to buy a ready-made factory-made septic tank. Such models are made of plastic (rarely fiberglass) and have an absolutely waterproof case. The disadvantage of this option is that with a high level of groundwater in the area, the risk of the treatment plant floating up significantly increases.

Float protection

In the event that it is planned to install a septic tank with a plastic case, care must be taken that the light case does not float up, raised by groundwater. Such emergency situation will lead to the complete destruction of the sewage system and may contribute to environmental pollution.

Therefore, when installing a septic tank with a light plastic case, a technique called anchoring is used. This part of the work is done like this:

  • In the prepared pit, the bottom is leveled. The quality of work is controlled by the level;

  • A layer of sand 30 cm high is poured on the bottom, it is rammed;
  • A reinforced concrete slab is laid on top of the sand, then a septic tank is installed;
  • Having thrown the bandage belts over the top cover, they are fixed on the metal loops of the embedded parts.

Advice! In the absence of the ability to use lifting equipment, it is not possible to lay the slab on the bottom of the pit. In this case, the bottom of the pit should be filled with concrete mortar with the installation of embedded metal fasteners.

Homemade sealed design

If the owners want to build a septic tank with a high GWL with their own hands, then the most acceptable option is to install a monolithic concrete structure. All prefabricated septic tanks are not tight enough. Building a monolithic septic tank with your own hands is a time-consuming task. Main stages of work:

  • preparation of the pit, device at the bottom of the sand cushion;
  • pouring the bottom with a concrete mixture with a preliminary laying of metal reinforcement;
  • construction of formwork for concreting the side walls of the tank and creating an internal partition. When constructing the formwork in the places of future overflows, as well as incoming and outgoing channels, pipe sections of the required diameter are inserted. Since after the concrete has hardened, it will be difficult to make holes in the walls of the tank;

  • pouring concrete solution into the prepared formwork;
  • pipe connection;
  • formwork device for the floor slab with hatches for tank cleaning and installation of ventilation pipes.

The main difficulty in the construction of this type of septic tank is the need to mix a large amount of solution. It is not easy to do this work with your own hands, therefore, if possible, it is better to rent a concrete mixer.

Soil heaving protection

As the soil freezes and thaws, it moves. During the off-season cycles of freezing and thawing can be repeated several times a day. If a septic tank with a plastic body is used, then such ground movements can lead to deformation or damage to the body.

To protect the septic tank from such exposure, a special backfill is used, consisting of five parts of sand and one part of dry cement. When digging a pit, the size of the pit is selected taking into account the fact that after installation, there were gaps of 15 cm wide on each side between the housing wall and the slope of the pit.

Backfilling is carried out in layers with compaction and pouring water into each of the layers.

Advice! In order to prevent deformation of the septic tank body during backfilling, it is necessary to simultaneously fill the chambers with water. Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that the water level is always higher than the backfill level at the moment.

Organization of soil post-treatment

With a high GWL, it is not possible to build a drainage well or a conventional filtration field. In this case, it is necessary to construct an above ground filter cassette. And since such a cassette will be located above the septic tank itself, then a sealed storage well with a booster pump will need to be included in the circuit.

Water from the septic tank will be supplied to the well, and then pumped into the filter cartridge. The cassette is installed as follows:

  • The fertile soil layer is removed (30-40 cm);
  • Sand is poured to the ground level;
  • Concrete bars 30-40 cm high are installed along the contour of the pit. The bars are fastened together;
  • Crushed stone is poured into the resulting cavity;
  • An infiltrator is installed on top (a plastic container that does not have a bottom), under which a supply pipe is supplied;
  • The infiltrator is carefully insulated. For this purpose, foam or expanded clay is used;
  • Then the cassette is covered with soil with a layer of at least 30 cm. After that, the resulting slide can be decorated.

Construction of a septic tank in clay

Difficulties also arise during the construction of a septic tank in clay soil, significant difficulties arise when the filtration fields are arranged. On clay soil, filtration fields are built as follows:

  • if the GWL is below 1.5 meters, semi-recessed filters or filter cassettes are arranged;
  • at high GWL - they arrange a surface filter cassette, constructing a sand and gravel cushion.

Since the layer of clay soil, most often, has a thickness of no more than 2.5-3 meters, then at a low level of GWL, a filter well can be installed.

Advice! To choose suitable option do-it-yourself septic tank devices in clay soil, it is necessary to study the types of soil on the site. The most accurate information can be obtained by ordering geological exploration, however, this will require additional costs.

When building filtration fields in clay soil with your own hands, you must first of all calculate their area. This indicator depends on the number of stocks. So, with a daily water consumption of 0.5 cubic meters, a meter per meter area will be enough.

With a doubling of the volume of effluents, it will be necessary to build filtration fields with an area of 2 square meters. When building filtration fields with your own hands, the following rules should be observed:

  • the distance from the bottom of the filtering ditches to the occurrence of groundwater should be at least 1 meter;
  • a drainage grid is laid out at the bottom of the prepared ditches, on top of which crushed stone and sand are poured;
  • drainage pipes are laid with a slope of 1 cm per meter of length.

Since clay almost does not absorb water, care must be taken not only to build filter cassettes, but also to drain the liquid. To do this, you should build a drainage system with your own hands. This system will drain not only purified water, but also rainwater.

The construction of an annular drainage around the septic tank is recommended. To do this, dig a trench so that its bottom is 20 cm below the freezing level of the soil. A sand cushion is poured inside and geotextiles are laid. Drainage pipes are laid with a slope, covered with sand and gravel and wrapped in geotextiles laid earlier.

  • Installation of a septic tank should be carried out starting from mid-summer or early autumn. At this time, GWL is the lowest;
  • If the pit is filled with water, then installation cannot be done, you must first pump out the water;
  • With a high GWL, the septic tank should not be deeply buried. It is more profitable to install it at a minimum depth, and then insulate well.

With a high GWL, septic tanks may well function. Only these treatment facilities will need to be built according to a special technology, taking into account the specific conditions of the area.

If you are lucky enough to have a site in a swampy area (that is, where the level of groundwater flow is close to the surface), then equipping a sewer system will be a task for you that requires a careful approach. Since it is impossible to arrange a septic tank for high groundwater with a drainage bottom.

Such an installation of a standard treatment tank threatens a mini-environmental disaster, at least for a specific site, and on a larger scale for all neighbors. Insofar as wastewater, falling through the drainage chamber into the ground, will merge with groundwater, and from there go to the nearest wells, wells, garden crops, etc.

What is the way to solve the problem that the "happy" owners of a summer cottage or suburban area in a swampy area have, we understand our material. And for clarity, we attach the video below.

Important: with a high GWL (groundwater level) on the site, it is imperative to make an allowance for this factor at the time of designing and installing all communications related to water.

If you understand that the standard cesspool even for a seasonal dacha, this is not your case, since there is a risk of poisoning the entire perimeter of land holdings, we suggest that you even more thoroughly understand the features of the swampy area and understand how difficult it is in the installation of sewerage. In addition, here you will find out what risks may await during the construction and operation of a sealed septic tank for pumping out on such soils. As they say, forewarned is forearmed.

  • So, even the simplest single-chamber design of a septic tank will require remarkable forces for its installation. And it's all about the mobility of moist soil. Therefore, you will have to tinker to securely fix the treatment plant chamber in the ground. The most common use for this is either concrete slab(if they put a plastic septic tank), or they mount a treatment well from concrete rings. In any case, the installation process will take longer than installing a septic tank on standard soil with a low GWL.
  • The emergence of a septic tank chamber during the snowmelt or heavy rains season. This is especially true for plastic tanks. The fact is that plastic storage tanks are identical to water floats. So, even in a filled state, such chambers are subject to a powerful pressure of soil flavored with water. As a result of the ascent or roll of the septic tank, the tightness of all joints will be broken. There is a risk of seepage here dirty water into the ground, which is dangerous for the environment, and groundwater into the chambers of the septic tank, which will require the frequent invitation of sewage equipment. And this will hurt the family.
  • Complete flooding of all chambers of the septic tank. This can also happen as a result of shifts in the tank and a violation of its tightness due to violations of the installation rules. As a result, you will have to face a local disaster. All water sources will be poisoned, ponds and reservoirs may bloom, and garden and horticultural crops will become unusable.

Important: a septic tank for a site with a high GWL must be completely sealed in all chambers. There should be no drainage into the soil.

How to correctly determine the level of groundwater on the site

In order to make sure that your site is located in a swampy area, you should make small observations. As a rule, the GWL on the site is fully manifested during the season of snow melting or autumn prolonged rains.

To control the level of groundwater, you need to drill recesses in the garden at the right time. For work, a simple auger garden drill is used. The recesses are made until they hit the water.

Important: it is necessary to make several control recesses at once at different ends of the site. This is done in order to reconcile the received data throughout the territory.

If you don’t feel like messing around with drilling and tracking, then you can just chat with your neighbors. The long-livers of your village clearly have information about the GWL, which will subsequently facilitate the installation of a septic tank.

Important: almost the entire central strip of Russia is located on swampy terrain. Sometimes the groundwater level can be only 20-40 cm from the surface of the earth. This once again indicates that a private sewage system in the form of a septic tank must be exceptionally tight and only for pumping.

Important principles for arranging a septic tank with a high GWL

In order to make a private sewer for a summer residence or country house with a high GWL, you must strictly follow several important principles:

  • Firstly, only plastic should be used as a material for the treatment structure, and preferably fiberglass. Its compressive strength is much higher than other types pvc material. At the same time, the plasticity of such a container is also better. It is better to forget about septic tanks made of concrete rings or bricks right away. These materials have joints and are very hygroscopic, and therefore, with an increased attack of water from two sides, they will soon give up their positions. Even if at the installation stage make a special coating with waterproofing mastic. Yes, and it will be too difficult to install a septic tank made of concrete, and even more so a brick on watery soil.

Important: the tightness of the septic tank chambers in the case of a high GWL is first of all! Therefore, the choice of material for the waste collector should be well thought out.

  • The ideal option would be a septic tank, specially designed and created modern manufacturers. The design of such inventions has two or three chambers interconnected by overflow pipes. A fully finished plastic septic tank only needs to be installed in the ground, and you can operate it after connecting the sewer pipe. Such a septic tank works very efficiently, accumulating drains from all over the house, defending them and completely cleaning them. As a result, in the third chamber of the treatment system there will be only clean water, which will remain to be pumped out.

Important: if your site is close to a reservoir, then you can save on the services of an assinizer and simply dump water into it. According to SNiP, domestic wastewater that has been treated through an industrial septic tank is considered 98% clean. And by using aerobic bacteria in the septic tank, you can reduce the amount of residual sludge in the chambers, and later use it as fertilizer for the garden or garden. Thus, by doing right choice, again it will be possible to save on assimilation equipment.

  • It is worth remembering that a reliable sealed septic tank for a site with a high level of groundwater needs to be cleaned as it fills up. Otherwise, an overflow of drains may occur. So it is not worth neglecting the pumping of effluents.

If the option of a finished septic tank is not suitable

If you decide to save money and build a septic tank with your own hands, then you will have to use either a monolithic concrete pour or ready-made plastic cubes. Consider both options for the device.

PVC cube septic tank. For high-quality installation of cameras, it is necessary to prepare a pit, which should exceed the parameters of the cubes by 20-30 cm. The bottom of the pit is well compacted and a layer of sand 30 cm thick is poured into it. A concrete slab is placed on the sand, which will become a reliable anchor for plastic. With the help of anchors and chains, the septic tank is securely anchored.

After that, it is necessary to make a cement-sand sprinkling of containers. The septic tank chamber is filled with liquid by 30 cm and sprinkling begins from the outside to the same height. Continuing to gradually fill the chamber with water and the distance between the septic tank and the walls of the pit, move to the top. This technology makes it possible to insure treatment tanks against soil pressure and subsequent deformation.

After all the cubes are mounted, it is necessary to provide their overflow part with the help of tubes. In this case, be sure to take care of the sealing of all joints. Lastly, the septic tank is covered with a plate for its reliable fixation. The ventilation pipe is brought out and access to the hatches is provided, as indicated in the video below.

Septic tank monolithic concrete

For device private sewer in a swampy area with your own hands, you can also make a monolithic septic tank made of concrete. This choice is correct: the design has no joints, which means it will be a reliable reservoir for domestic wastewater.

  • So, first we dig a pit. We strengthen its walls with formwork and at the same time form a form for concrete pouring according to the size of the pit. Immediately it is worth making all the partitions with pipes for overflow into them.
  • A reinforcing mesh is installed in the center of the formwork and along its entire height. It will make the concrete stronger after drying.
  • The solution, reinforced with a hydrophobic additive for resistance to moisture, is poured into the formwork and left for 2-3 days. If the weather is good, the solution will set during this time. And it will take 7 to 10 days for it to dry completely.

Important: in the process of pouring the solution for its high-quality compaction, it is better to use a construction vibrator. So the finished monolithic septic tank will be almost pore-free.

  • After the tank has dried, it is advisable to coat it with sealant from the inside.
  • The next step is to fill the bottom. First, the bottom of all three chambers is well rammed. After that, a layer of sand is poured, which is also carefully rammed.
  • A reinforcing mesh is laid on the sand and a solution is poured. Waiting for it to dry completely.
  • They do it last concrete floor. To do this, the walls of the septic tank are covered with metal corners - stiffeners. Boards are laid on top perpendicular to the width of the chamber. If it is more than 1.5 m, then you will have to install support pillars from below. Otherwise, the finished concrete pouring will simply push through the walls of the septic tank with its weight.
  • A reinforcing mesh is laid on the boards, formwork is placed and the solution is poured. Do not forget about the hatches and holes for the ventilation pipe.

It remains to connect sewer pipe to the septic tank and start its operation, as shown in the video below.

If your site in a swampy area is used as a summer residence for seasonal visits, then here you can simply mount a storage tank in which drains will be collected. Over time, they will have to be pumped out with the help of a sewer.

Another solution may be to opt for a special drainage fecal pump, which can raise the effluent to a higher level and send it to a reservoir located on the surface without burying it in the ground. But this version of the do-it-yourself sewerage device is also optimal only for temporary or seasonal summer cottages.

Company Trans-Unit help organize the sewerage of a country house in short time and by pleasant prices in Moscow.

The septic tank is a completely unique building. It can not only accumulate waste for some time, but also purify it, and even dispose of it. Therefore, these devices win in comparison with conventional drain pits.

Many people would like to install this equipment on their site. But they don't know which model to choose. For example, there is a special septic tank for high groundwater. What is its advantage over others?

Elevated water levels are a common phenomenon in Russia. Water can be found by dropping as little as 20 cm deep. This is a challenge, but there are sewerage systems that are not afraid of this, and they are able to cope with this problem.

Below are models that are ideal for areas with high water tables.

  • The body of the septic tank is made of ecological waterproof material;
  • Acceptable cost;
  • Does not require pumping;
  • Shelf life of 50 years.

Eco Grand septic tanks have a biological waste treatment system. You can use them both regularly and periodically. This does not affect the degree of waste treatment.

System advantages:

  • Waste pumping is not required;
  • No bad smell;
  • Made of durable material, eco-friendly;
  • Can be used throughout the year, regardless of ambient temperature;
  • Long service life.

Why autonomous septic tanks should be chosen for high groundwater

When you have to choose a septic tank for a summer cottage, a high level of groundwater can become a hindrance. Therefore, experts recommend choosing not storage systems, but autonomous ones.

The choice is made on the basis of how many people will need to be served. For example, if in country house live only in the summer and no more than 3 people, you can buy a septic tank with a tank, up to 5 m3 in a cube. It is clear that for continuous use of the device for a year or for more people, you need to choose a system with a large reservoir volume.

Important! Most importantly, with a high level of groundwater, the system should have a forced release of water. In other words, you should opt for septic tank models with a pump. Thanks to this, the purified water will be discharged to the surface of the soil, which means that groundwater will not enter the device.

In addition, you need to pay attention to the following factors:

  • The body of the septic tank must be made of durable and durable material;
  • The device should weigh little;
  • The system should be easy to install.

When choosing, it is important to seek the advice of specialists. It is they who will be able to advise a septic tank adapted to the Russian climate, purifying waste up to 98%, without an unpleasant smell and sounds.

Some people do not want to install septic tanks on the site just because they do not want to spoil appearance territory. However, experts have found a way out of the situation here. After installing the cleaning system, you can give it the look of a beautiful alpine slide! And the problem is solved.

Important nuances:

  • It is advisable to install a septic tank at a distance of at least two meters from a residential building;
  • If it is installed at a distance of 15 meters from the house and further, it must be equipped with intermediate wells;
  • It is necessary to install from a source of drinking water at a distance of 15 meters.

Only a specialist can take into account all the important points. Therefore, do not engage in amateur activities. It is necessary to involve professionals in the installation of a septic tank!

When soil waters lie at a depth of about a meter from the surface of the earth, this does not allow the placement of ordinary treatment facilities, but septic tanks are required for high groundwater. To determine the depth of occurrence, it is enough to check the site with a garden drill. It is desirable to do this in 3-4 places. After that, you will need to select the appropriate cleaning system.

When groundwater comes close to the surface, and sometimes its occurrence can be located even at a distance of 30 cm or less, many homeowners have no idea how to properly install treatment equipment on the site and what it should be like.

Design installation features:

  • The septic tank must be mounted on a completely flat surface;
  • It is considered mandatory to install the system on a concrete pad and securely fix it with cables, ropes or belts, otherwise it may float and be damaged;
  • The body of the equipment must be firmly sealed, especially for devices made of concrete rings - this way water seepage can be avoided;
  • Also, poor tightness of the installation can lead to the sinking of the model and contamination of soil water with waste sewage pipes.

Measurement of the high groundwater level should be done after spring floods or in autumn, when the rains end.

IN middle lane the problem of GWL applies to many territories and areas of the suburban sector, so you will need to choose high-quality equipment for cleaning sewers.

How to choose a country sewerage with a high level of groundwater

Of course, you can use makeshift gadgets from concrete, brick and other materials, but this approach is unlikely to ensure complete tightness of the structure.

This further threatens to cause serious problems associated with poisoning of groundwater with waste and flooding of the equipment case.

It is better to choose the optimal modification corresponding to the position. Special septic tanks are well adapted to the swampy area, designed to work with GWL.

You can solve this issue in the following way:

  1. For a summer residence or a private house, you can choose a small model of industrial production, the rating of such modifications is very high.
  2. You can design your own modification from eurocubes - special containers with a plastic container inside.
  3. Country sewerage in a territory with a high GWL necessarily provides for the installation of a heavy concrete pillow with iron elements under the septic tank. It is even better to make a concrete well without seams, which will provide protection against sewage from entering the ground.

The well will require digging a pit, installing formwork, reinforcement and pouring concrete.

Stages of construction: how to make a septic tank if groundwater is close

High groundwater level is not an obstacle for construction sewer system.

At self erection treatment plant the most important is:

  • Absolute tightness of the case;
  • For the strength and weight of the structure, it will be necessary to make a reinforced concrete pillow at the base;
  • The freezing point of the soil must be taken into account.

Chambers for filtration and storage are made of metal or plastic cubes, concrete rings.

Work order:

  • The location is determined - the sewer should be located 5 meters from the housing;
  • A pit is being dug, the walls of which are reinforced with any wood material;
  • A layer of waterproofing is placed at the bottom and a concrete solution is poured;
  • After drying, another layer of waterproofing is laid, on which a septic tank is placed, while groundwater should be pumped out;
  • Next, a ventilation pipe is assembled, which is necessary to remove methane;
  • The structure must be buried;
  • The cover of the equipment equipped with ventilation is erected.

The design will be reliable with maximum stability. This point needs special attention.

Advantages of a concrete septic tank with a high level of groundwater

Pat UGV often forces us to look for optimally acceptable solutions for the construction of an autonomous sewage system in a private house. Unlike materials for the body of a septic installation, such as metal, plastic, reinforced concrete rings, monolithic concrete more practical, because it allows you to build equipment of any size.

The main advantages of a concrete well are:

  • The material is not subject to corrosion, decay, calmly tolerates critical temperatures, is not afraid of small animals and insects;
  • The seamless design is perfectly sealed and does not allow contaminants to penetrate into the groundwater;
  • A concrete septic tank is the best because it is heavy, its ascent is excluded.

Concrete is the most cheap material, in this regard, the construction will not require large financial investments, which is also important.

In the countryside, especially if there is no central sewage system, the presence of aeration septic tanks is simply necessary. If country cottage area or the territory of a private house is located in a swamp, this is not a reason to be upset. A home-made concrete septic tank or high-quality factory equipment for sewage treatment will help ensure that the home has a normal operation of an autonomous sewer system, and cleanliness, order and comfort will reign in the house for a long time.
