How to arrange everything in the bathroom. Arrangement of furniture in the bathroom. Rational use of space. Correct lighting device

Tell me, what is more important for you - a shower or a bath? My colleagues and I decided that after all, people are divided into those who love and cannot live without a bath, and those who don’t need anything else except a shower.

I'm a soul person. But rather out of laziness... I very rarely take a bubble bath... But I can’t live without a shower - that’s for sure!

And you know what irritates me most now in my bathroom? I set the faucet too low. Or rather, I installed it correctly - the spout of the faucet is exactly 150 mm from the side of the bathroom, but when I take a shower - I’M LOW! I have to bend over to change the degrees or pressure of the water...

And why all? Because she didn’t come to the construction site, didn’t get into the bathtub and didn’t show the exact place to the builder. But he just read the drawings... he didn’t deign to call, but if it doesn’t say “call”, then what’s the demand :). Now all my drawings contain so many explanations and valuable advice to would-be builders that my colleagues laugh when they look at them :).

Why am I doing all this?

And what about today, let’s arrange everything in our bathrooms and toilets correctly?

Well, if not all, then at least most of it.

So the topic of the day:

PLACE CORRECTLY

ACCESSORIES IN BATHROOMS

I've been drawing pictures here all day - I hope you like them :)
Everything in the picture is given in millimeters! And not in meters :) you never know that I’m crazy.

Well... Let's start with the bath.

Besides the bath itself, specifications, which you receive from the seller, you need to place at least:

  • water mixer (tap)
  • shower head (built-in or wall-mounted)
  • shelves for soap accessories

How to find out the ideal location of everything for you? First you need to know everything for sureTECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF THE BATH! You must clearly understand its height, the height of its legs, and the location of the water outlet. It is also very important to understand what shape your bathtub is. since the location of the mixer depends on the shape.

For ordinary proper baths(those simple rectangular shapes) we will take as a basis the fact that the tap is positioned along the axis of the bathtub section on the right or left .

Or in the center of the bowl itself along the wall to which the bathtub is adjacent.

The approximate dimensions from the floor for placing the mixer are given as 800-1000 mm.

But it’s better to focus on the CORNER OF THE BATH - and retreat from it approximately150-200 mm.

It is considered the norm for placing a shower2100-2400 from the floor level. here the height of the lowest point of the bathtub itself will play an important role. Those if your height is average 170-180 cm,
If your bathtub stands on legs of 10-15 cm, then the watering can should have a free space of at least 10 cm above your head.

Example: a bathtub stands on legs of 10 cm. My height is 170 cm. This means the minimum possible placement of the upper shower head for me is 195 cm. I round it up to 2 m. And since I like to wave my hands above my head, I will add at least another 10 cm. Result 210 cm above the level of the finished floor is the comfortable minimum for me specifically.

For a bathtub in which you will shower while standing, the ideal way to find the correct height for the faucet is exactly the method I described above: stand in the bathtub and see how comfortable it is for you to turn the faucet handles while taking a shower :).
Separately, I want to say about the shelves - the main thing in them is not to break your HEAD! And that is, there are precedents... A man raises his head from the foam of the sea... and bam... well, you understand :))

Part 2. SHOWER.

The height of the mixer in the shower is a fairly utilitarian thing. The mixer should be at a level convenient for use. I determined this level to be approximately90-100 cmfrom a clean floor.

The height of the watering can directly depends on the set you choose.

If you have everything built-in, then this is one option, if everything is on a “stick,” then the second option.

But try to ensure that the level of the clean floor is not lower than 2 meters.

If you have a very high ceiling (what if you are the lucky owner of one), then pay attention to technical specifications top watering can that is built into the ceiling!

So that your story turns out to be this: by the time the water “reaches” you from above, it will cool down three hundred times :).

Look carefully and ask specialists about extension cords for such showers, and explain that your ceiling... as in best houses London and Paris :)

About the shelves - I like the shelves at eye level in the shower. I don’t know about you - but this is convenient for me. And I noticed that when we start trying on shelves in the shower with customers, we intuitively go to the level of the eyes and chin.

Part 3. Sink.

For some reason, placing accessories near the sink is always a problem...

And for some reason the biggest problem is the placement of lamps near the mirror and socket-switches.

My friends, before you start giving valuable instructions to the foreman, you definitely need to be confident in choosing your SINK! And, accordingly, all the furniture that complements it.

Take the original height of your sink as a point and proceed.

Remember not to place the outlet in close proximity to water!

Separately, I will say about the lamps - for their ideal location, it is customary to call the height from the level of the finished floor 150 cm.

I hope now there is one problem for you

there will definitely be less repair work...

Proper design of a bathroom is extremely important, because a sanitary and hygienic unit is a room that must have increased comfort. The layout of the bathroom depends on many factors such as the size and shape of the room, and the number of people in the family. In addition, when creating a bathroom design project, you should take into account building codes and recommendations, and safety standards.

The arrangement of interior elements can visually both expand and reduce space, change the proportions of the room, and make the interior either comfortable and functional, or inconvenient and ineffective.

The dimensions of the sanitary and hygienic unit affect:

  1. Location of plumbing, furniture and household equipment.
  2. Location of water supply system pipes.
  3. Choice finishing materials. If the communications are wall-mounted, then at the stage of creating a room project, you should think about the most successful way to hide them.

A wide range of modern plumbing and household equipment allows you to choose models that will suit any size bathroom. In addition, today you can order the manufacture of plumbing fixtures to individual sizes.

You can plan the interior in one room using computer and online programs. The MagiCAD visualization program will help you design a bathroom taking into account SNiP and GOST standards. The Triton planner will be able to create a three-dimensional model and develop a design for a combined bathroom online.

A competent drawing will help you locate key interior elements in the bathroom. A room plan indicating all dimensions will allow you to correctly arrange the elements in accordance with sanitary and hygienic standards.

In order for the layout of the plumbing to be comfortable, it is necessary to adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. The length of free space in front of the shower and bathtub should be at least 700 mm, ideally 0.1 meters.
  2. The area in front of the toilet must be at least 600 mm in length; a distance of 250 mm should be left on the sides.
  3. There must be a distance of at least 350 mm between the bidet and the toilet.
  4. 700 mm of free space should be left in front of the sink.
  5. A comfortable sink should be located at a height of 600-800 mm, a mixer – 950 mm.
  6. The minimum width of a bathroom should be 700 mm, a shower cabin - 900 mm, a sink - 600 mm, and a toilet - 500 mm.

Placement of plumbing in apartment buildings regulated by building codes and regulations designed for the safe operation of communications. When planning a bathroom in a private home, you should take into account standard standards and recommendations in order to increase comfort and practicality.

Design and layout of a small bathroom

Owners of city apartments are often faced with the issue of optimizing and saving space. This issue becomes especially acute in non-residential premises: kitchens, bathrooms, hallways.

Planning a small hygienic room has the following features:

  1. Plumbing fixtures should be located in the direction of their use.
  2. To place personal hygiene products, you should use hanging storage systems and hooks.
  3. Don’t forget about mezzanines and built-in niches that will help place household chemicals and cosmetics.
  4. A corner shower stall will save space.
  5. A drop-shaped bathroom will make it possible to free up space for a bidet or a small toilet.

When planning a small sanitary unit, you should consider where the door opens (into the room or out). In the first case, part of the usable area of the room will be lost. Good decision Sliding doors will be installed.

Options for bathroom layout 6 sq. m

Layout of a room measuring 6 square meters. m depends on the length of the walls, the shape of the room and the number of corners in the room. In addition, the placement of plumbing fixtures is also affected by the location of the entrance opening (you should not place the bidet and toilet opposite the door).

When drawing up a room project, you must follow these recommendations:

  1. If the room looks like an elongated rectangle, then the most acceptable scheme is to place the bathroom in the far, deep corner, and the rest of the plumbing on the wall with utilities.
  2. A non-standard layout of a sanitary and hygienic unit may include both a bath and a shower. In this case, the plumbing fixtures are placed nearby, in the middle of the room, along one wall. Due to this, separation of the washroom and toilet areas is achieved.
  3. If the sanitary unit is in a private house with a window or bay window, then it is better to place the bathroom opposite the element. At the same time, if the room is on the ground floor, you should take care of the presence of curtains or roller blinds for the window.
  4. If the family is large, then you can arrange a double sink in the room. The structure should be placed along the wall with a bidet or toilet.

When developing a design project for a sanitary and hygienic unit yourself, it will not be amiss to prepare options with different layouts: this will make it possible to choose the most convenient and attractive project.

Layout of a combined bathroom

Often, owners of apartments in Khrushchev buildings think about redesigning the bathroom, making its area larger due to the adjacent non-residential premises, or connecting a shower room with a toilet.

The dimensions of all rooms in the apartments are regulated by GOSTs and SNiPs, in accordance with which the planning and redevelopment of rooms is carried out. The decision on redevelopment must be agreed upon with special authorities, the main one of which is BTP.

After remodeling the bathroom, to increase the comfort of the room, you can transfer communications: pipes, today, are easily expanded using building materials. Often the sink needs moving. The most convenient location of the washbasin is between the bathtub and the toilet. The advantage of this layout is that the most attractive element - a washbasin with a mirror - is visible immediately upon entering the bathroom.

You can also place plumbing fixtures in the corners of the room: this solution will provide free access to each element.

Bathroom design and layout (video)

You can conveniently and attractively place plumbing fixtures and furniture in both spacious and small sanitary and hygienic units. Bathroom projects with detailed arrangements of interior elements can be created independently using programs for 2 and 3D visualization. The main thing is that the location of the main elements in the room complies with GOSTs and SNiPs: this way the layout will be the most comfortable!

In order for plumbing equipment to work properly, it is important to place it correctly vertically and horizontally.

To facilitate the calculation-free design of plumbing installations, regulatory documentation has been developed in which most of the answers to these serious questions can be found.

In addition to the correct operation of plumbing equipment, the standards for its placement are aimed at ease of use - ergonomics, especially in cases where disabled or elderly people live in the house. For these categories regulations give specified recommendations or requirements, including the size of auxiliary rooms and the location of doors.

Normative documents

Basic documents that are worth studying for the layout and equipment of the bathroom and toilet:

  1. SNiP 2.08.01–89.
  2. SNiP 3.05.01–85.
  3. CH 478–80 (for installation with plastic pipes).
  4. SP 40–103–98 and VSN 69–97 (for installation with metal-polymer pipes).
  5. SP 40–102–2000 (for wiring with polymer materials).
  6. SP 40–108–2004 (for distribution with copper pipes).

Recommended distances when determining the installation location of plumbing fixtures are specified in SNiP 3.05.01–85. European and American standards (DIN and NKBA) almost coincide with Russian standards, and in the USA the heights are slightly higher, and in Asian countries, on the contrary, slightly lower.

Requirements of regulatory documentation when placing plumbing fixtures in the toilet and bathroom

The main document for placing plumbing fixtures is SNiP 3.05.01–85. He declares:

  • sequence of work;
  • hole sizes when laying pipes through walls and ceilings;
  • connection types steel pipes;
  • recommendations for pipe fastenings;
  • requirements for the installation height of plumbing equipment;
  • testing requirements.

Placement of bathrooms and toilet rooms above residential premises not allowed. Above the kitchen, if necessary two-story houses and apartments - allowed.

The size of the toilet should not be less than 0.8x1.2 (WxD) m. For families with a disabled person, the dimensions of the premises cannot be less than:

  • toilet with washbasin - 1.6x2.2 m;
  • bathroom or combined bathroom - 2.2x2.2 m.

Data on the installation height of water supply fittings in private houses (from the horizontal axis of the fittings to the plumbing fixtures) are summarized in Table 1.

Table 1

Installation Reference point Height
Water taps and mixers from the sides of the sink 250 mm
from the side of the sink 200 mm

Sinks and sinks to the top of the side 850 mm (average value, selected taking into account the height of family members)
Baths to the top of the side 600 mm
Wall and tray urinals to the top of the side 650 mm (average value, selected taking into account the height of family members)
Shower trays to the top of the side 400 mm
Washing machine 600–700 mm
Hanging drinking fountains to the top of the side 900 mm
Flush cistern of a tall "English" toilet to the bottom of the tank 1 800 mm
Attached toilet 180–190 mm (from model)
Wall-hung toilet 220–240 mm
Toilet paper holder 600–700 mm, in relation to the toilet - 200–300 mm in front

The data given in this table is of a advisory nature. Most installation dimensions can be found in the factory installation card for each model, which serious manufacturers accompany their products with. When planning to purchase equipment, you need to study the available offers and their connection options. Thus, some toilet manufacturers provide several options for installing their equipment.

Permissible deviations in the height of free-standing devices are ±20 mm, groups of the same type are ±5 mm

Requirements for installation of internal sewerage:

  • sockets of fittings and pipes are mounted against the flow;
  • joints cast iron pipes insulated with tarred hemp with caulking cement mortar;
  • It is advisable to mount the toilet outlet directly to the drain pipe, in extreme cases - through a pipe (cast iron, PE) or coupling (rubber);
  • when installing a toilet with direct outlet, the outlet pipe socket is installed flush with the floor;
  • installation of the toilet is acceptable using screws (with a rubber gasket under the base) or glue;
  • The flush pipe of the urinal tray is installed at an angle of 45°, down towards the wall.

Installation of an attached toilet frame with a hidden cistern and bidet

SNiP 2.08.01–89 and departmental standards standardize the minimum, maximum or optimal sizes horizontally when placing plumbing equipment:

  • between the bidet and the toilet - no less than 0.25 m, but not so far as to reduce ergonomics - no more than 0.45 m;
  • there should be an open space in front of the toilet and bidet - from 0.6 m;
  • on both sides of the toilet, the bidet should have free space - from 0.25 m;
  • there should be an open space in front of the bathtub or shower stall - from 0.7 m;
  • in front of the washbasin, the free area should be WxD - at least 0.7x1.1 m, if the washbasin is located in a niche - at least 0.7x0.95 m;
  • the recommended distance from the bathtub/cabin to the washbasin is 0.3 m;
  • The recommended distance from the bathtub/cabin to the heated towel rail is 0.5–0.4 m.

Optimal placement of washbasin and mirror

Recommendations for placement of equipment, water supply to mixers, drain diameters

At the construction design stage, you need to think about the number of bathrooms - toilets and bathrooms, for the correct placement of risers and taking into account loads. If the house is large and guest rooms are planned, or several generations of a family live in the house - parents, children, grandchildren, then it makes sense to organize more than one bathroom. The guest bathroom can only contain a toilet and washbasin; the master bathrooms are equipped with an additional bathtub or shower.

A lot of useful information on the installation of plumbing and ready-made layouts for various cases can be found in Ernst Neufert’s encyclopedia “Building Design”. This will be especially useful for those who do not have significant bathroom and toilet space.

When placing equipment, sometimes you just need to use common sense. So, in most cases, a bathtub is placed along one of the walls or in a corner, but if space allows, you can install it as an island by wiring it in a hidden channel in the floor or floor box. The minimum area of the bathroom dictates the installation of a corner shower or sitz bath. When designing a bathroom with natural light, you need to take into account the size, placement and type of glazing of the window.

The longer the bathtub, the shallower it can be

A mirror is usually installed above the washbasin. If the mirror is located on the cabinet door, it should be located above the top point of the faucet spout. When installing two separate washbasins in a room, the distance between them should not be less than 90 cm, otherwise simultaneous use will be difficult. In this case, it is convenient to place a heated towel rail or a towel rack between the washbasins.

Consider the presence of shelves and cabinets, a washing machine, a basket for dirty laundry, and outlets (if necessary). A bathroom can be very functional even if it is small in size.

Bathroom and toilet layout

Layout of a combined bathroom

An example of a bathroom layout

Economical arrangement of corner shelves and washbasin

Left/right - how to properly supply cold and hot water to the mixer

Traditionally, water supply to faucets is carried out for right-handed people and taking into account the fact that the cold water tap is used more often: on the right - cold water, left - hot. In addition, this arrangement is safer for right-handed children - there is less risk of accidentally scalding with hot water (note to parents whose children are left-handed!).

And yet, in most cases, this arrangement is a matter of habit, especially if the connections are made with flexible hoses. However, for faucets with a thermostat, correct connection is necessary, otherwise they will not work. Some manufacturers equip their models with replaceable thermostatic cartridges, which allows you to “switch” an incorrectly connected faucet without dismantling the installation if the wiring is hidden.

Thermostatic mixer

For correct drainage, the diameters of sewer drains must correspond to the drain flow rate or connecting diameters from plumbing equipment. Data on the minimum diameters of drain pipes are given in Table 3.

Table 3

We always spend the beginning of a new day in the bathroom, and its design, in turn, can significantly affect the emerging mood, and even self-esteem. We will tell you how to create comfortable conditions in the bathroom space, giving photo examples, and based on the presence of the most common mistakes when arranging this room.

Poorly thought out layout

The main problem that causes various inconveniences is improperly planned bathroom space. Moreover, if in spacious room You can still put up with the fact that the shower stall is in the wrong place - then in small room such a “flaw” is unacceptable.

Right

In order to make it comfortable for you to be in a small bathroom, you should think about filling it down to the smallest detail, starting, of course, with large plumbing fixtures. The bathtub must be installed so that it completely fills the space along one of the walls. But if you also need to place a washing machine in the room, it is better to abandon the bath in favor of a shower.

Instead of massive base cabinet under the sink, use a compact wall-hung analogue, and install the toilet so that there is enough space between it and the plumbing fixtures opposite for free passage.

Club atmosphere

If you once admired the design of a bathroom in a popular public institution(nightclub, cafe, restaurant), if you want to recreate a similar atmosphere in your own bathroom, think before you make such a mistake.

Often the bathrooms in establishments are decorated in a deliberately relaxed, languid manner, for example, in dark colors, with a lot of mirrors and dim lighting. In fact, such a bathroom interior in an apartment or house will be depressing, interfere with a cheerful awakening in the morning, and make your complexion unhealthy.

1

RIGHT

2

Lack of protective partitions

The area around the bathtub can be left without a protective curtain if a shower stall is additionally installed in the room. In the case where the bathtub is combined with a shower, the absence of a partition or curtain will lead to the fact that the adjacent walls and floor will be flooded with water, which you will spend extra time cleaning.

RIGHT

The simplest and affordable way to isolate a bathtub with a shower means installing a bar between the walls and hanging a functional curtain on it. There are other methods of protecting against splashes on nearby surfaces, for example, static glass partitions, sliding or hinged doors installed on the side of the bathtub.

6

Slippery floor

When choosing ceramic tiles for flooring, you can make one but very significant mistake and purchase a smooth, glossy material.

It is important to understand that for the sake of beauty you are neglecting safety rules, because if water gets on a slippery surface, the risk of serious injury during a fall increases.

RIGHT

The tiles for cladding the walls of the bathroom can be glossy, but the floor here must be matte, slightly rough. If you do right choice in favor of special, lappated tiles, then in the future you will save yourself from unnecessary fears of damaging anything.

Dim work light

We will not tire of reminding you how important high-quality, well-installed light is in the bathroom work area. And it would be a big omission on your part to ignore the installation question lighting fixtures near the mirror above the sink. As a result, you can get unsightly shadows on your face, choose the wrong shade of cosmetics and, in general, spend a lot more time in the bathroom trying to look at your own reflection.

2

RIGHT

An excellent solution for working area The bathroom will have a mirror with integrated lighting that will illuminate your face softly and evenly. Alternatively, you can install a pair of identical lights on each side of the mirror at the same height from each other, but this will require installing additional wiring.

Paper wallpaper

For specific rooms with high humidity, this method of decorating walls is not suitable a priori, especially if the room is small. The paper base and glue for such wallpaper will quickly absorb moisture, the seams will come apart, and the canvas may completely move away from the surface of the walls.

RIGHT

The best material for cladding bathroom walls is ceramic tile, laid out in compliance with all installation rules. If for some reason you are not ready to use it in the decoration of the room, it is better to opt for combined finishing. That is, if the wallpaper is certainly washable and moisture-resistant (vinyl), it can be used in the area of the sink, the front door, near the bathtub. It is still better to tile the lower part of the walls, decorative bricks or moisture-resistant panels, especially in the shower area.

No towel holder

This seemingly insignificant detail can in practice create Better conditions for being in the bathroom. But if you do not provide for the installation of a rod or hanger with simple hooks in time, you can get into some trouble. For example, when you leave the bathtub to grab a towel from the other side of the room, you leave behind wet footprints on which you will slip.

1

RIGHT

Ideally, hooks, a rod or a multifunctional holder with a dryer should be near each area associated with water procedures: by the bathtub, by the cabin, by the sink (for spacious bathrooms).

No mat near the bath

A foot mat is a nice touch, but if you don't have one in the bathroom, you could catch a cold standing on the cold floor with your bare feet, or slip while getting out of the bath or shower.

1

RIGHT

Any plumbing store will offer you suitable mats made of cotton or soft polyester: in different sizes, shapes and pile sizes. We recommend choosing a mat with a rubberized base to prevent it from sliding on the floor surface.

Very small sink

Surprisingly, even in fairly spacious bathrooms, very small bowls are often installed, probably due to unusual design, shape or built-in sensor. In practice, such plumbing products are nothing more than decorative, low-functional accessories.

Standing near a small sink, it will be difficult for even one person to carry out the usual hygiene procedures, not to mention a married couple or children who are rushing to school in the morning.

RIGHT

In a large bathroom, it is better to immediately install two separate sinks to make daily rituals more comfortable for everyone. For small spaces, it is recommended to choose one sink with a wide bowl, or a double washbasin option.

2

Discreet decoration

If you think that in the bathroom it is enough to tile the surfaces and install suitable plumbing fixtures, we will answer: this is only 70% of what should be done in this room. After all, a bathroom is a separate, albeit small, but independent room, which can also have its own, unique image.

1

RIGHT

Decorating a bathroom can be an incredibly fun activity through which you can unleash your creativity. Therefore, we advise you to go to the store in order to choose original lamps for the work area, a beautiful mirror in a frame or with a chamfer, textile rugs, soap containers, a bright bath curtain and many other useful and beautiful things.

The long-awaited renovation of the bathroom has been completed, and the owners of an apartment or house are faced with the question of how to properly position the plumbing fixtures. After all, it should create comfort and at the same time be located in accordance with sanitary standards. The largest element is the bathtub, for which you need to choose the optimal location in the room.

Plumbing installation standards

Bathroom equipment and furniture are placed not just like that, but in accordance with regulated standards. This is necessary to ensure proper water supply and drain installation. When planning a bathroom renovation, wires, water and sewer pipes, outlets for lighting fixtures, and sockets are installed taking into account the future location of the plumbing.

First of all, a toilet is installed if the bathroom and toilet are combined. It should be as close as possible to sewer pipes for easy cleaning in case of blockage. According to the requirements, the correct location of plumbing requires maintaining a certain distance:

  • The optimal location of the bath from the door is 70 cm.
  • From bath to heated towel rail, hanger - 50-70 cm.
  • The toilet or bidet is located 60 cm from the door.
  • The location of the bathtub from the washbasin is 30 cm.
  • From the washbasin to the toilet (bidet) – 25 cm.
  • Washbasin - 80 cm from the floor, 70 cm from the door.

If you take into account the indicated distances, the location of all plumbing fixtures in the bathroom will not only be correct, but also comfortable. You need to carefully measure the dimensions of the room in order to choose a bathtub of the optimal shape - round, corner, oval. Premises are classified depending on the size and height of the ceiling into a bathroom, a combined bathroom, a toilet and a bathroom. It differs from other rooms in dimensions. The area of the bathroom should be from 3.3 sq.m., typically the location of a bathtub, washbasin, washing machine and shower. A combined bathroom is a common option for a room with a toilet where there is a toilet.

Installation features by room type

Premises for water-hygienic procedures differ in both size and shape. Taking this factor into account, they choose plumbing fixtures and optimal location bathtubs in the bathroom. Installation Features:

  • Narrow and long room. It is convenient to place plumbing fixtures along the walls, as in the photo. On the opposite side there is a heated towel rail, sockets, a tulip, a lamp, a mirror. There remains a convenient passage and access to all equipment. If the width of a small room is more than 150 cm, the bathtub is mounted under a short wall, if less than 150 cm - under a long one.
  • Large room. There is enough space here to install a bathtub in the center, as in the photo. This creates a complete feeling of comfort. Plumbing fixtures with legs look ideal. One condition is to bring the pipes to the bathtub under the floor to hide the communications. In a spacious room, the bathtub can be installed anywhere; you need a lamp on the wall and an overhead light, sockets for the boiler and washing machine.
  • Rectangular room. The correct location of the bathroom is in the corner along the wall. This will intelligently save space in a small room. A washbasin with a mirror and a lamp will comfortably fit next to the bathroom, and at some distance - furniture or washing machine. The correct location of the toilet is on the opposite side of the room, as in the photo.
  • Small square room. In such a room it is generally difficult to place a full bath, and many people prefer shower stalls. But not everyone likes water treatments only in the shower. Therefore, in the corner there is a small square room rationally arrange corner bath semicircular shape shown in the photo. This way you can save space for a washbasin, a tulip with a lamp and a small mirror, and a heated towel rail.

When choosing a location for installing a bathtub, you need to take into account where the communication pipes run. If redevelopment of the premises is required, it is necessary to obtain permission from the relevant authorities. To avoid paperwork and wasting a lot of time, it is better to choose plumbing fixtures of a suitable shape and install the bathtub in the place where the drain is provided.

Where to place a bath according to Feng Shui

One of fashion trends, which more and more homeowners adhere to when arranging rooms, is the teaching of Feng Shui. Someone puts a bed according to Feng Shui, someone makes front door with the side recommended by fashionable teaching. And some people install a bathtub according to Feng Shui to receive the energy of water.

You can look at a photo of the location of the bathroom, the features of which are as follows:

  • Room for water and hygiene procedures. The correct location is on the north side of the house or apartment - in the direction of the element of water.
  • The shape of the bathtub, in order for it to comply with Feng Shui ideas, should be round, oval or semicircular, the toilet is hidden from view.
  • The color palette of furniture, accessories and plumbing fixtures is predominantly light, white, pastel, soft blue or green.
  • Bright, but not blinding, lighting is very important. If the room has a window, this is ideal.
  • According to Feng Shui, the placement of plumbing fixtures in the bathroom should be such that a person can see the person entering from anywhere in the room and not turn their back to the door.

According to fashionable Eastern teachings, there should be no objects in the bathroom that interfere with the passage of good qi energy and unnecessary things. Should plumbing be placed according to Feng Shui or recommended sanitary standards, it is up to the homeowners to decide.

The emphasis should be on convenience, comfort and the right system connecting the water supply and sewerage, and then - on the aesthetic component of the room’s design.
