The international children's creativity competition “The Beauty of God's World” has been announced. Deadline November 1, 2018.
Organizer: Sector of Events and Competitions of the Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Students of general education (secondary), secondary specialized educational institutions, institutions of additional education, Sunday schools, pupils of preschool and other children's institutions in Russia and foreign countries are invited to participate.
Works made in graphic (pencil) or painting (watercolor, gouache, pastel, oil, ink) techniques are accepted in the following categories:
- Baptism of Rus' (dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus')
- Princes Kievan Rus
- Saints of the 10th–11th centuries
- Bible stories
- The spiritual world and the earthly world
- Christ and the Church
- Favorite temple
- The beauty of native nature
- My home, my village, my city
- My family, my friends
- Orthodox icon: nomination dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus' (for students of icon painting schools or workshops aged 13–17 years)
- Porcelain painting (for students of art secondary and secondary special educational institutions (has additional requirements for the design of work)
The size of the works is no less than 30×40 cm and no more than 50×70 cm, have margins of at least 0.5 cm wide, and are not decorated with mats or frames. On the reverse side of the work the following must be indicated: last name, first name, age of the author, telephone number for contacting the author’s parents or official representatives (indicating the country code and settlement), the title of the drawing, as well as the last name, first name, patronymic of the teacher, the full name of the educational institution, its address.
To participate, you must send the completed application and work to the regional diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church (relating to the contestant’s region of residence). The diocese is selecting best works and sending them to the next stage of the competition.
- The total number of prize places is 30. All winners are paid for accommodation, meals, and excursion program. Travel must be paid for by the local diocese.
- The winners of the Competition who took 1st place in each category are awarded Patriarchal diplomas and valuable gifts
- Participants of the Competition who took 2nd and 3rd places are awarded diplomas from the Chairman of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church and valuable gifts
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow All Rus' KIRILL, within the framework of the International Christmas educational readings, the international Children's Art Competition “BEAUTY OF GOD'S WORLD” is being held.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPETITION is the spiritual, moral and patriotic education of the younger generation, introducing young people to Orthodox culture, identifying new talents and creating an environment for creative communication between children and youth of Russia, near and far abroad countries.
The competition takes place in two stages. The first stage is carried out at the regional (diocesan) level and can be divided into school and district/municipal. The second stage of the competition takes place in Moscow. The works of the winners of the second stage, selected by the jury, will be presented at the exhibition during the International Christmas Educational Readings.
With the blessing of His Eminence, the Most Reverend VICTOR, Bishop of Glazov and Igrinsky, the regional (diocesan) stage of the Competition is held in the Glazov diocese from September 1 to November 10 of this year (school, municipal and regional stages), while the Competition is at the level of educational institutions (school/ municipal stage) is held from September 1 to October 10, 2018.
Students of educational institutions (secondary schools, art schools, centers of additional education, studios, etc.) and Sunday educational groups of parishes of the Glazov diocese are invited to participate in this stage. The Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Glazov Diocese is responsible for conducting the regional (diocesan) stage of the Competition. We invite students of educational institutions in the city of Glazov, educational groups of parishes of the Glazov diocese, to take part in the International Competition of Children's Creativity "BEAUTY OF GOD'S WORLD". about the International Children's Creativity Competition
"BEAUTY OF GOD'S WORLD"
- CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
Students of educational (secondary), secondary specialized educational institutions, additional education institutions, Sunday schools and parish educational groups and other children's institutions in Russia and foreign countries can take part in the competition. All rights to works submitted to the Competition belong to the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church. The topics, nominations of the Competition and the number of prizes in each nomination are approved by the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church annually and published on its official website www.otdelro.ru before September 14 of this year. WORKS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED AND WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
Works sent to the Competition must meet the following requirements: works are performed in graphic (pencil) or painting (watercolor, gouache, pastel, oil, ink) techniques; the size of the work is no less than 30x40 cm and no less than 50x70 cm; works have margins of at least 0.5 cm; works are not framed or matted;
- REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITION WORKS
The reverse side of the work must indicate:
— telephone number for contacting the author’s parents or official representatives (indicating the locality code);
- name of the drawing;
- last name, first name, patronymic of the teacher (in full, not initials!);
— full name of the educational institution, its address. WORK MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE YEAR IN WHICH THE COMPETITION IS HELD.
- Each work must be accompanied by the Consent of the parents (parent) or a person replacing him (legal representative) on the transfer of rights to use the work to the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church. It is advisable to place this agreement on the reverse side of the work (for example, glue it with office glue or connect it to the work with a paper clip). IMPORTANT: WORKS THAT DO NOT MEET THE SPECIFIED REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THE COMPETITION!

1.2. "ORTHODOX ICON":
Only students of icon painting schools or workshops who have reached the age of 13-17 years can take part in this nomination. The work must be carried out in compliance with the canons of Orthodox foreign language.
1.3. “PORCELAIN PAINTING”:
The nomination involves the participation of children 13-17 years old, mainly students of art secondary specialized educational institutions (has additional requirements for the design of works)
- How to take part in the international Children's Art Competition "BEAUTY OF GOD'S WORLD" (diocesan tour).
For the convenience of conducting the regional stage of the Competition, it is divided into three stages:
holding a stage of the Competition at the level educational institution(OU) and Sunday schools of the municipal district (deanery): each educational institution/Sunday school wishing to take part in the Competition determines the person responsible for conducting the stage of the Competition in the OU and establishes a school jury for this stage at its discretion. During the period from September 1 to October 10, 2018, the educational institution/Sunday school organizes an exhibition of works, at which the jury determines the winners in three age categories based on: I place - 1 work; II place – 2 works; III place – 3 works.
- The educational institution/Sunday school independently awards the winners of this stage with diplomas/certificates and letters of gratitude. Upon completion of the work, the winners (no more than 18) are transferred to the organizing committee of the municipal stage of the competition to participate in the selection exhibition. The coordinators of the municipal stage are deans of church districts, assistant deans for religious education and catechesis, and a representative of municipal services (department of education or department of culture of the district). Work can also be transferred directly to the diocesan administration at the address: Glazov, Svobody Square 10 A, if the municipal stage is not carried out in districts and deaneries.
- The stage of the Competition in the regional center of the municipal district of the deanery involves the following events: An exhibition of the works of the winners of the Competition stage at the educational institution/Sunday school level, the result of which should be the selection of the best works of the exhibition participants for sending to the diocesan stage of the competition in Glazov. The distribution of prizes at this stage coincides with the previous one: 1st place – one winner; II place – two winners; III place - three winners. The exhibition is organized by the dean together with municipal services (education department or cultural department). The Chairman of the Competition Committee is the dean. The awarding of the winners of this stage is carried out by the dean, together with municipal services. Upon completion of this stage deans need to provide the works of the winners to the OroiK of the Glazov diocese, accompanying them all necessary documents(Consent to transfer of rights to work, Copy of birth certificate, etc.). Dates for this stage: from October 10 to October 20, 2018.
- The Glazov stage of the Competition is conducted by the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Glazov Diocese among the works of participants who took prizes in the deaneries of the Glazov Diocese. The selected works will be sent to Moscow to participate in the federal stage of the International Children's Art Competition "BEAUTY OF GOD'S WORLD". The works of the winners of the diocesan stage of the competition will be published on the diocese’s website. The awarding of the winners of the diocesan stage of the Competition will be held at a gala event (where participants along with parents and teachers will be invited) after the exhibition of these works in the Transfiguration Cathedral of Glazov on November 1, 2018.

BUK of the Omsk region “Palace of Culture and Family Creativity “Svetoch”” together with the Omsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church announces that it will be held in 2018 on the territory of the Omsk region regional stage of the annual International Children's Creativity Competition "The Beauty of God's World".
The competition is held in the field of fine arts.
The purpose of this competition is the spiritual, moral and patriotic education of the younger generation, introducing young people to Orthodox culture, as well as identifying new talents and creating an environment for creative communication between children and youth of Russia and foreign countries.
Competition nominations.
1. “MAIN TOPIC”. List of topics in the nomination: Baptism of Rus' (dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus'); Princes of Kievan Rus; Saints of the period X-XI centuries; Biblical stories; The spiritual world and the earthly world; Christ and the Church; Favorite temple; The beauty of native nature; My home, my village, my city; My family, my friends.
2. “ORTHODOX ICON”. The nomination is dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus'. Only students of icon painting schools or workshops who have reached the age of 13-17 can take part in this nomination. The work must be carried out in compliance with the canons of Orthodox icon painting.
3. “PORCELAIN PAINTING.” The nomination involves the participation of children aged 13-17, mainly students of art secondary and secondary special educational institutions. The work is done on paper, the sketch of the plate painting is made in the form of a circle with a radius of 19 cm. List of topics in the nomination: Moscow Monasteries, Lost Moscow, Moscow antiquities, Unknown architecture of Moscow, Moscow in the time of the Rurikovichs, Moscow in the times of the Romanovs, White Stone Kremlin, Temples of Moscow, Zamoskvorechye, Moscow saints.
Works, sent to the Competition must comply with the following requirements:
Works are performed in graphic (pencil) or painting (watercolor gouache, pastel, oil, ink) techniques;
The size of the work is no less than 30x40 cm and no more than 50x70 cm;
Works have margins of at least 0.5 cm wide;
The works are not framed or mounted;
On the reverse side of the work are indicated: surname, first name, age of the author, telephone number for contacting parents or official representatives of the author (indicating the country code and locality), title of the drawing, as well as surname, first name, patronymic of the teacher, full name of the educational institution, its address;
The work must be completed in the year in which the Competition is held.
Each work must be accompanied by: a copy of the participant’s passport or birth certificate; Consent of a Competition participant who has reached 14 years of age, or (another legal representative) of a minor participant in the Competition to transfer exclusive rights to use the work to the Competition Organizers; Consent to the processing of personal data of a participant in the Competition who has reached 14 years of age, or (another legal representative) of a minor participant in the Competition.
We invite students of general education (secondary), secondary specialized educational institutions, additional education institutions, Sunday schools, cultural institutions of the city of Omsk and the Omsk region to participate in the competition.
